As the Founder and President of Benchmark Construction Consulting and a trusted owner-side advisor, Larry specializes in luxury hospitality renovations and complex commercial projects. Over the course of his 33+ year career, he has led and supported work across more than 130 properties nationwide, bringing a rare combination of boots-on-the-ground construction execution and executive-level project leadership.
Prior to launching Benchmark, Larry co-founded Humphrey Rich Construction Group and served as a Senior Project Executive for more than 22 years, leading complex renovation and repositioning work in highly visible, operational environments. Today, he applies that contractor perspective from the owner's side - serving as an accountable advocate for owners and asset managers through renovations, conversions, and repositionings where cost control, schedule performance, and operational continuity are critical.
His project experience extends well beyond hospitality. Base building and structural work, shopping centers, banks, luxury retail, office, and high-end residential are all part of the portfolio - a breadth that shapes how he reads risk, sequence, and trade coordination across project types.
Larry is known for disciplined oversight of budgeting, estimating, procurement strategy, scheduling, and reporting - aligning owners, brands, operators, designers, and trade partners to drive clarity, accountability, and successful outcomes. He is a 1993 graduate of the University of Virginia.
